You can use your BBQ Spit when your out on a hunt, or just pick to do an expedtion from the quest lady. Then when the food cooks on the spit a little song plays, hit the A button at the end of the song to stop cooking and you'll get a well done steak.

Once you have picked up Elder Fugen's Errand, it's time to source a Well-done Steak by paying a visit to the Canteen.
