I had an Extra Comfort seat and it was great. Kind staff, comfy seat, and I was lucky to have a row to myself. Would definitely fly Hawaiian Airlines again.

Flew BOS-HNL about 11 hours. Overall seat comfort was good, however, there are a lot strange quirks about Hawaiian FC. There is an odd placed foot rest with FC asile seats that make it cumbersome to get in and out. For inflight entertainment, FAs pass out large iPads that fit into a rig that doesn't move, so getting in/out of the seat that that set up is awkward. Lots of cords as they have to plug it in plus headset, just seemed messy to me. I guess I expected something like international food service on this flight - it was not - very basic small portions. The crew was good, but made little effort asking if we wanted drinks/snacks after the food service - had to get up and ask - then they waited on you. It's a strange first class product. I flew back in 18B in Comfort Economy and TBH I thought it was a better experience than first. 18B was a comfortable seat and I had no issues feeling comfortable for 10 hours. FC on Hawaiian from BOS-HNL is not worth the 2K fare I paid so I'd recommend doing Comfort economy, just bring some snacks and drink as the food service in economy is aligned with the mediocre FC service.

Great seat, very comfy in upright and reclined positions. Plenty of room. Flight attendants were very attentive and sweet. During the flight they had the curtain closed and seemed very quiet, so I wasn't bothered by any noise or aisle traffic. Thankfully I had a thick sweater with me but I was surprised at the low quality of the soft goods. The 'blanket' provided was barely thicker than a sheet and the pillow very flimsy. I was expecting better for a first class product and based on their website photos.

Seats have a mini plug receptacle for earphones with a jack for a mini plug on the front of the armrest. I had to ask a flight attendant where this was. With seat fully reclined, I could stretch out flat (in a straight line, not horizontal) with feet under the seat in front of me. That wouldn't work if you have a bulky item you need to store under the seat in front of you.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/02/16 for Seat 2C

The centre row C/D seats have less room because of the bulkhead in front of 1C/D. As a 5'11" person I could feel both ends of the seat when fully flat. The window seats A/B and H/J have about 8" more room, and I was fine when fully reclined. Though the foot rest on is narrow, and you're in danger of falling off it in the window seats, because of the extra 8" gap.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2020/01/10 for Seat 3A

I found the value for money extremely good. No Champagne but Mai Tai´s. Staff very good. Perfect beginning and end to an Hawaiian vacation. Found the seats very comfy, just a bit odd for privacy when flying solo.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/12/03 for Seat 2J

Hawaiians business class wasn't as great as I was hoping it would be. I wish the foot/leg rest and backrest had independent controls, there is only a turn wheel in the armrest that operates both in unison. The angled seats aren't great and the large tablet for entertainment is good in theory, but its not connected to when the flight attendant or pilot make announcements and when you have a window seat your almost boxed in by it as the swivel arm only swivels about 15 degrees out.Its a shame because Hawaiian do so many things so brilliantly. I wanted it to be great but it just fell short :(

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/11/27 for Seat 15D

This seat has narrow armrests, so you fight with your neighbor for arm position. Also, no air adjustment. After 2 hours my bottom hurt from the thinly padded seats. Be sure to bring a seat pad. Leg room is good for 6'2". Barely wide enough for a normal sized person.

My wife and I have flown the Hawaiian A330 both in First Class and premium economy (Comfort) and are hooked. The lie-flat seats in First Class are quite nice and have a unique look. Very pleasant service by the flight attendants, decent food served with complimentary Mai Tais, and an ok selection of movies and TV shows (download from Netflix before flying!) All in all, we have abandoned United from LAX to Hawaii, particularly when flying on this plane to and from Honolulu. We are trying the A321neo in November to Lihue and will report afterwards....

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/10/15 for Seat 11J

Seat 11J is actually a very nice seat. Seats 11J and 11H are in a private section of the plane – sectioned off from the business class area and from the stewardess platform behind. There are twelve seats in total in this section (two middle rows of four seats, as well as a row of two seats on the left and right side of the plane). 11J is a nice private seat with no disturbance from ANY passengers, there are no other seats around (apart from your neighbour in 11H). Quite delightful actually. The bulkhead is not a problem at all except that you are looking at a wall with a master TV screen, but you have your own pull out TV from under the seat. There are two windows giving a lot of light and it’s easy to gaze out the nearer window from the seat. The seat DOES RECLINE (as do seats 11C, 11A, 11B). There was a lot of leg room: I could rest my feet flat against the wall with my legs straight (I’m 167cm) and I could exit my seat without disturbing the rather large passenger next to me (with a little agility). The toilet behind the seat is actually quite far removed in a whole different section so I could not hear it at all, and there is an area behind the seat section for people waiting to use the toilet, so the toilet was in no way disturbing to seat 11J. The crew platform behind this section of the plane could be potentially disturbing from staff chatting loudly, but this was really not a problem for me, and actually more of a convenience because they attended to my calls very quickly and we got served first for food! The only issue with 11J is that you cannot keep your bag on the floor, and you have to store in it the overhead, and there is limited space in the overheads for this section of the plane. Again – not a problem at all in my case. I would choose seat 11J or 11A again.

The only U.S. airline with free meal service on domestic flights, and decent legroom when behind the First Class Cabin. Nice recline and service.

12G Bostin to Hawaii*bad- The safety belts were old faded and frayed as were the "extra comfort" seats they had certainly seen better days for such a long haul flight. The jetfuel odour was overwhelming and there is no air vent in 12G. Seat does not recline*good- service was wonderful loads of leg room but non reclining seats on a long haul flight?? Who would do that to their customers that are paying for this. 12G should not be a premium seat.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/07/09 for Seat 29H

Best coach airline seat I've had in a long time. The seat was a little narrow, but reclined further than I've ever seen a coach seat. I'm 6 foot tall and had plenty of legroom. Made the 6 hour flight from Hawaii comfortable. There was USB power at our seat, but no 110V. The seats all had built in TV screens to be used. The flight also came with meal service, a very nice thing to have on a flight that left in the afternoon. The plane was also surprisingly quiet, better than expected being behind the engines.Hawaiian earned me as a future customer for their great service.

Submitted by Paul B on 2019/07/05 for Seat 16J

Extra comfort If you need legroom definitely plenty more plus board early. Chair same as others. Board second and leave first. Close to beginning of meal service and lavatory. Worth another $100? Probably not unless the meal service was slightly better quality to make up for cost.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/04/10 for Seat 11J and 11H

These seats are terrible. We've flown these exact seats a few years ago, before they installed a wall from the ceiling to the floor between first class and these seats. There is limited legroom now. If you are over 5' 10" tall you will be pressing your feet onto the wall for a long-haul flight, unable to stretch out. The seats are stiff and uncomfortable too. Don't know why they are called "Extra Comfort" seats.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/03/13

I just read a review of seat 11-H (&J) which had a mistake in it. These seats DO INDEED recline. It's a full-size, standard coach type recline (to about 130 degrees). You do have to engage your body to make it recline; you have to push back fairly strongly with your upper back/shoulders; that did throw me off for a moment, but it works. WHile there is some light from the galley, the seat is very comfy. I'm 6'3" & 260 lbs, NOT small.

Submitted by Guy C on 2019/02/16 for Seat 42A

This is the most uncomfortable airline seat i have ever sat in. Before Hawaiian airlines changed to the A 330 they flew the Boing 767 on this route and it was much more comfortable. Ive flown Hawaiian every year for the last 18 years because of the comforable seats. I will loook at other airlines.

Submitted by George S on 2019/01/29 for Seat 11A

Good seats to have. Found the extra leg room great and they also had a good recline as well. The only issue to me is you can see first class from here...

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2019/01/17 for Seat 28B

I'm not sure if it was just my specific seat but I found the cushions to be slightly uncomfortable. Legroom seemed pretty tight for a seat with 31" pitch, and it only got worse if the passenger in front of you reclines. I would definitely recommend paying up for an Extra Comfort seat if you're over 6' tall.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/12/11 for Seat 11C and 11G

(to add to my previous negative comment). The proximity to the lavatory means every few minutes a loud banging of the lavatory door and loud talking among people gathering in that area.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/12/11 for Seat 11C and 11G

Very poor. Seat is at a bend in the aisle so that your feet placed directly in front of you, as well as your arm inside of the arm rest get hit whenever people pass by. There is almost no place in front of you to place your things (which you don't have access to for takeoff or landing) -you must rely on the good will of your neighbor to let you put your things in front of them. Tray in the arm rest gives you less seat room.

Submitted by Omar D on 2018/12/04 for Seat 2C

Excellent width and legroom, service was equally excellent as the seats.

Submitted by Dan W on 2018/11/21 for Seat 3H

Great Seat! Tons of room! Food and service was on point! One of the few wide-body flight from the mainland to the islands. Great to plane to fly. I recommend this plane and airline anytime you can fly on them.

We flew to Honolulu and back to Las Vegas in these seats , they were the most uncomfortable seats . when 29 A @b puts their seats back , you cant get out or put your tray table down . these seats are over priced . we fly to Hawaii every year

The seat did not recline.

OGG to LAX 9-2-2018. Extra comfort seats are exactly what they promise - unlike other airlines that charge more for "Economy Plus" (say United) but really don't give any more. Hawaiian gives you honest extra leg room and the arm rest between the seats raises up for even more comfort. Our flight crew was professional but always friendly, the cabin clean, and with plenty of overhead bin space so no fighting with anyone for bag storage. Will never fly to/from Islands on airline other than Hawaiian. Wish they flew more Mainland routes. Would switch in a heart beat!

Flew on a HNL-SFO flight. Average legroom, very wide seat! Good padding, not a bad option for Domestic or INTL economy flights. Two windows as well at this seat.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/06/28 for Seat 11J

AKL-HNL in 11J. Great seat because it is so private. Full recline, however no underseat storage during takeoff and landing. Heaps of legroom. Far enough in front of lavs. Only major downside is that slight noise and light pollution comes from the galley by Door 2.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/06/27

11H&11J are great seats. Bulkhead but lots of legroom. Lots of overhead space. Get to deplane before rows 14+. Seats fully recline even with oxygen tanks behind seats. Seats 11A&B also good seats. 11C&G have your legs into aisle leading into First cabin; people walking buy may hit your legs.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/06/03 for Seat 1A and 1B

Lie-flat seats 1 A and 1B were outstanding. Hawaiian Airlines manages to engineer all the features I expected for the first-class price. Getting in and out of the window seat without disturbing the fellow passenger was perfect - because there is a little "mini-aisle" on an angle, beyond his feet (if he's sleeping"). Ergonomics of back support and arm rest is surprisingly comfortable. Upholstering for the lie-flat position is thinner, yet comfortable enough to sleep long distances. (And I am elderly with many fractures). Visual entertainment screen fits beautifully, close enough for arm to reach. Food tray table is solid and easy to access, and the Crew Attendants set it up in a flash. Over-the-top terrific Personnel and STUNNING FOOD! I'm searching for an excuse to fly Hawaiian's new lie-flat seats and service , like, TOMORROW/

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/05/19 for Seat 3J

We have flown this flight many times. This is a big improvement from the other first class seats. The lie flat seat is awesome. We have flown other airlines with lie flat seats for long distances (KLM, Virgin Australia, etc) and these seats are very comfortable. The best part about Hawaiian is when you get on the plane you are in Hawaii

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/05/09 for Seat 2B

First class seats are uncomfortable in all positions. Foot rest is terrible - not even room for one of my female feet. Awkward design. Lie flat position would be better if it wasn't for the problematic foot rest. Unfortunately food was bad both coming and going.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/04/26 for Seat 2c

With the seat pad for sleeping, this was a comfortable seat with aisle access. The recline dial was easy to use. The foot rest is narrow. The privacy panel didn't really block the light from my neighbor's I-pad while he was watching videos and I was trying (unsuccessfully) to sleep. Never can on a plane.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/04/13 for Seat 17A

The window seat is quite off. Window is NOT aligned properly. More like a window wall seat if you will. The window is more towards the back of the seat (16A). Extra Comfort but sadly no window view.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/04/12 for Seat 28H

28H and 28J did not recline however the seats in row 27 did leaving very little room between the 27H seat back and my face.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2018/01/14 for Seat 2A

Comfortable window seat. Needed flight attendant to explain console in the middle with the movies. Weird to be at an angle in the plane, used to feet forward. Roomy for 5'4" me, hard for 6'3" husband in 2B. Great for 10 a.m. flight going to HNL, not so good for seats going back on other side, H & J. Very dark, hard to read books. Service very good. Food great going, not so good coming home. Beware rows 11 & 12, extra price but very cramped and no lean back. Young skinny people only.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/12/08 for Seat 1H

ABHJ seats in first have more legroom since there is a small area in front of the footrest for AJ to exit if BH are in lie-flat mode. CG have the same footrests but they are flush with the casing of the seat in front of them since both seats have direct aisle access.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/11/29 for Seat 11J

Seats 11H and 11J do not recline. There is a bulkhead in front and a wall in back so nobody nearby except across the aisle, but because of the equipment stored behind the seats they do not recline. I'm pretty sure 11A and 11B do not recline either. The middle seats in row 11 do recline. There are two windows in row 11.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/11/13 for Seat 2H

OGG to LAX. Very disappointing new first class. Not really a flat bed, more like a foot rest with a sliding seat. New Ipad entertainment was lousy with limited movies, tv and no Hawaiian music. They would only let you use it for a short time and took away 45 minutes before landing. Food was a joke, appetizer consisted of 3 small shrimp with kimchee essence, supposed to be spicy udon noodle instead had bland marinara sauce. No vegetables, no salad. Wine was also a step down from United, American or Delta. Not sure what has happened to the old Hawaiian air Aloha Spirit.

Flew on this flight from HNL to SAN. Can't say enough about how nice it was to fly in this new configuration. For us if was more than comfortable. The ability to utilize the lie flat seats was awesome. More than enough room to move around. Each of us were provided with the iPad pro (12") for watching movies. Food was excellent and the flight attendants were top notch. Can't say enough about the flight.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/10/20 for Seat 36j

Comfortable seat, not too narrow, reasonable leg room, and everybody in coach got FREE blankets and pillows for the overnight flight! Hawaiian Airlines, you rule!!! And for those that have complaints about first class I suggest you try United's coach service on their very cramped 737's back to the mainland, you will be humbled.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/10/04 for Seat row 22

Note: Service for the rear section of the plane starts around this row so if you want your drinks, snacks, and meals first; sit in this row

Seats 15H/15J in extra comfort although possibly worth the extra $165 the in flight entainment is touch screen and as my wife found out the person in the seat behind was constantly hitting his screen. Extra comfort does not mean extra quiet. Beware of the babies and young children, good grief!!!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/08/25 for Seat 15h and 15j

These two seats were "extra comfort" class and offered ample leg room. The only negative is the bright lights in the service corridor where the restrooms were and where crew organized meals. The lights were do bright and shown directly down toe isle towards the seats along the right side (h and j seats) that it was difficult the doze off of sleep.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/07/20

new seats with no information on how to operate them. We needed to call attendant for that. I just wanted to lean back but couldn't unless I went forward first and foot rest - NOT good. we couldn't get the tray nor screen to pop up even using two hands. Had to get flight attendant to help in both incidents with that as well. Not my favorite 1st class experience.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/07/18 for Seat 11A

Very quiet area, hardly any noise from FA station and no noise from bathroom. Enough leg room and seat recline for someone under 70" tall. Had this seat from HND - HNL.

Submitted by Jenny K on 2017/06/17 for Seat 2a

Good seat; easy to get in/out

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/05/26 for Seat 30G

Great seat and service on HA. Lunch wasn't bad and the IFE was decent. The bathroom isn't a big issue being close to the seat. Their A330 is a great choice for SFO to OGG.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/05/19

The new first class seats are really comfortable and spacious. Props to Hawaiian for making the best domestic first class hard product! I will no longer fly any other carrier to Hawaii, period!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/05/04

The width of these seats are 2" smaller. 31G due to the lower crew rest emergency hatch located to the right of the seat. 43abhj-47abhj are also 2" smaller in width due to curvature of the aircraft

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/04/27 for Seat 11 J

My husband and I recently flew on this plane for our trip to Hawaii. My seat did recline however on the trip over to Hawaii my little video screen did not stay up to use it. The mechanism that holds it up was broken. On the way back home we flew on the same Airbus 330 style of plane but this time my video player worked fine but my husbands video wouldn't work at first. While we enjoyed the privacy of this little nook with only 2 seats we felt the seats were too narrow and we fought elbows all the way over and back. Next time we will break the bank and fly first class.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/04/22 for Seat 11 AB

Will try 34 AB or HJ next time. Friends loved those seats and said seats fully reclined.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/04/21 for Seat 2G

New HA business class configuration is poor, especially in middle (C&G) seats as foot room is very narrow and uncomfortable in all positions. Seats are stiff and uncomfortable in upright position My seat was broken and did not 'complete' the flat bed position Possibly the worst flat bed business class seat I have had the displeasure of experiencing. Very disappointing.

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/03/26 for Seat 3c

The seats 3c and 3g have less leg room! The footrest is much smaller than for all other seats so one with far above 6 feet can not make full use out of them (no space for two legs)!

Submitted by SeatGuru User on 2017/03/20 for Seat 11J

Seat 11J, although extra comfort is claustrophobic. A bulkhead wall in front of you and one behind, make it tight. Also, this seat did not recline at all. Hawaiian 1 LAX-HNL March 12. Avoid this seat.
