Kirami FinVision Nordic Misty Changing Room (2024)

The Kirami FinVision Nordic Misty changing room for our Nordic misty sauna is a complete module with all walls in place. The sauna and changing room modules fit together seamlessly. The changing room is made of the same spruce panel and heat-treated hardwood as the sauna both inside and outside.

The changing room can be ordered when buying the sauna or afterwards. A bench, coat rack and LED lighting for the coat rack can be purchased as accessories for the changing room, that has a window and a glass door to let the light shine in. The light switch makes it easy to turn on the lights, both in the coat rack and the spot light on the ceiling of the dressing room. The smoky grey glass door customised with a black wooden frame creates an atmosphere and a sense of space in the changing room of the Kirami FinVision® -sauna, and it is of the same size as the door to the sauna room. All of the glass surfaces in the Kirami FinVision® -sauna and changing room are of the same shade.

Pull knob and locking of the door

Personalised with the Kirami logo, the knob of the changing room’s glass door is a pull knob made of high quality black stained Thuja wood, and a similar knob can be found on the sauna door. The changing room door can be locked from the outside with the padlock supplied. The lock set includes a latch, padlock and 2 keys. The changing room is only locked when the sauna is not in use. The lock prevents the door from opening in rough weather and provides security by preventing children from entering the sauna without an adult being present.

Door options

We recommend to check the handedness of the doors of the changing room (same as lounge) under the “Instructions for use” tab or on the product brochure pages. If the changing room is used as a separate building, you should decide whether you want the door on the right or left side of the building. By default, the door is on the right-hand side of the changing room and opens on the right (figure C1), but if desired, the door can also be ordered to open on the left (C2).

One door – ordering the changing room afterwards and it is connected to a terrace

The roof of the changing room is the same as that of Kirami FinVision® Nordic misty terraces, making them easy to connect. The changing room is lifted onto the terrace and fastened together at the transport supports. The roof is connected at the partition walls with a wider U-profile panel (see the module instructions for the installation of connecting panels). Always mention when ordering additional modules, so that we can provide the required additional parts in the delivery if the modules are to be connected to each other.

Two doors

The changing room module has two doorways. One of them is equipped with an external door, which provides access to the outside. The existing door in the sauna building serves as a door between the sauna and the changing room, so there is no need for another extra door in the changing room module.

Two doors – when ordering the changing room at the same time as the sauna

When ordering the sauna and the changing room at the same time, it is possible to change the handedness of the sauna door to the opposite. In a right-handed sauna, the door is normally installed right-handed. If a changing room is connected to the sauna, the sauna door is changed to a left-handed door.

Two doors – when ordering the changing room afterwards

When ordering a changing room, it is necessary to know the handedness of the sauna door and how the handedness will be changed by the customer when the changing room is put in place. Wider cover boards are supplied with the changing room. The existing cover boards of the sauna are removed and replaced with the new ones supplied with the changing room (see instructions for changing the cover boards). The customer can change the handedness of the sauna door frames if he wishes. A connecting plate is also supplied to attach the sauna building to the changing room (see instructions for attaching the connecting plate).

Two doors – how to connect the changing room to the sauna

The roof of the changing room is similar to the Nordic misty sauna and easy to install. The changing room must be placed at the same level with the sauna and attached to it at the transport brackets. Wider cover boards are mounted on the door between the sauna and the changing room to cover the junction between the buildings. The roof will be connected at the partition walls with a wider U-shaped metal sheet.

FAQs

How big should a sauna changing room be? ›

A comfortable sauna changing room should be at least 1 m2 per person. In our Tuula garden sauna project, the changing room is 2 x 3 m, which allows you to use the changing room also as a rest area.

What is the 200 rule sauna? ›

The "Rule of 200" in a sauna is a fundamental principle that combines temperature (measured in degrees Fahrenheit) and relative humidity (measured as a percentage) to achieve an optimal sauna environment. According to this rule, the sum of the sauna's temperature and the relative humidity should not exceed 200.

Should I use 2x4 or 2x6 walls for a sauna? ›

The entire sauna should have 2x4 framing on all four sides and the ceiling. If a portion of the sauna is solid wall construction (brick, block, etc.) those walls should be framed with vertical 2x2 firing strips of standard 2x4 framing. All framing should be standard 16 inches on center.
